Cynthia Burke Australian, Ngaanyatjarra, b. 1973

Cynthia Burke was born in Alice springs and spent her early childhood in Kaltukatjara (Docker River) before the Warakurna settlement was established. She attended school in Warakurna and Irrunytju, then later boarded at CAPS Coolgardie and Esperance. Cynthia quickly established her distinct style and practice. Cynthia is also well known for her Punu (wood carving) artifacts and has a multi-disciplinary approach to her artistic practice, resulting in highly dynamic artworks and contemporary interpritations of her Tjukurrpa and country.
