Betty paints the significant site Wantjapila, located just south of the Indulkana community. Once used for Inma (ceremonial dancing), the plain now acts as an important gathering place for community. After the rains the plain transforms from a barren landscape to a flooded expanse.
Betty captures the moment before the rains come, the plain's surface hard, rugged, and desolate. With subtle transitions of dried ochre hues displaying the cracked earth as it begins to show the first signs of water.
