COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT : IRRUNYTJU: Artworks From The Bungalow

The community of Irrunytju, also known as Wingellina, is located on the border of the Ngaanyatjarra and Pitjantjatjara Lands of the Gibson Desert, almost at the intersection of the West Australian, South Australian and Northern Territory border. The community sits at the base of a cardinal Minyma Kutjara (Two Women Creation Story) site known as Ultiju Kapi (Two Hills). It is an important sacred landmark imbedded with women’s business and ceremony, providing the context and inspiration for much of the community’s art practice.

The Irrunytju art centre is named after the creation story of Minyma Kutjara, with the studio providing a hub of creative and cultural practice within the community. The Irrunytju artists maintain a strong and continuous connection to their community and culture which is central to their artwork and inform their unique and visual diverse artworks. From the sought after painted trucks to the vibrant paintings, we invite you to view the gorgeous works from today’s spotlight. We are offering 10% discount on multiple purchases from todays Spotlight until the end of March.
