'My father and grandfather's country is Malara, the place of the water serpent between Pilpalyatjara and Kalka, out that way. An important place.
A long time ago a father had many sons. So many and they were all wanampi (watersnakes). There are many, many watersnakes there. From Malara they go out hunting for Kuka (meat). They go to many places nearby. They call out to the Wanampi that stay in Malara, are you out there? And they answer yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
When they come back, they carry the kuka on their heads. Those black rocks there, the tall ones. That's them. Still there. Any time they stopped they made those rocks. And everywhere they hunted too, you can see those rocks, but they are everywhere at Malara.
