This painting is about central Mt Wedge or Karrinyarra. This is my father's father's country. At the foot of the mountain is a large salt lake which holds Yalke [bush onion] Tjukurrpa. Alison recently visited this sacred site for the first time in her life and the visit reinvigorated her representations of the region she spent her early childhood before being send to Hermannsburg to the Finke River Mission.
