This is Snake Dreaming Country. In the Ngarrangkarni (Dreaming) the snake followed marranji, the dingo, through this country. The snake died along the way and marranji turned into Mullugoo, the fearsome dreaming dog. Churchill used to muster cattle all throughout this hilly country.
