Tjaruwa has depicted country associated with the Minyma Tjuta Tjukurpa (Seven Sisters Creation Line). This is an epic womens narrative that follows the journey of a group of young women who traverse the Spinifex Lands, evading the lustful pursuit of an older man (Nyiru). These are creation beings who shaped the landscape as they moved through it, leaving indelible reminders of their power and presence. Tjaruwa mentions Kuru Ala as the significant site surrounded by others where the women were present.
Tjaruwa and her family were the last people to emerge from the Great Victoria Desert in 1986 where they maintained a traditional hunter gatherer lifestyle until the wider Spinifex group decided to "bring them in." Water sources are a precious resource in the desert and feature strongly in the Tjukurpa and thus the paintings of the Spinifex artists.
