Lennard has painted the significant site of Palka Palka, an important site of Minyma Tjuta Tjukurpa (Seven Sisters Creation Line). This is an epic creation story that follows a group of women as they evade the pursuit of a lustful older man who possesses metamorphic powers. Palka Palka creek is a physical reminder that these beings not only existed but shaped the landscape as they moved through it.
Lennard has depicted the surrounding and equally important sites that complement the women’s journey. Kuru Ala, Tjukultjara, Nyuman, Kapi Wiyatjaranya, Pur-purnya (two rockholes) and Piralungka all featured with the women as they traversed a major swathe of Spinifex Country before moving north and continuing their journey.
