Ngalkritjara is a claypan area surrounded by higher country such that water is now available in the area by digging down into the soil.Wati Kipara (Turkey Man),the cranky old man from the north who stole fire near Tjukula and headed for the sea at Eucla sweeps through Ngalkritjara killing all the Kunkilkaa men women and children) with the stolen fire stick and eating them. He also eats Tjala (honey ants) and Tjuratja here before moving off to the south.Water is still to be found here in reliable abundance but the entire area is dominated by the absent presence of the destroyed Kunkilkaa.
