This is Tjitji Tjukurpa (Children’s Dreaming). The big place is the middle is a special place for tjitji inma (children’s ceremonial dancing and singing). This place is Watarru way.Tjitji tjuta, tjitji mulapa (many children, real story). All the dancing is happening in the centre. All the children have come from different directions to this place. There are all different groups of children: Langka kids (Centralian blue tongue lizard), Miniri kids (thorny devil), Wiilu tjitji puta- putalla (wading birds in the sedges), Witulu tjitji Nyaparilanguru (sweet tomato kids from Nyapari area). These kids are travelling underground. Mamu kids (little animal, not the evil spirit) Everyone is heading to the same special place at Watarru, singing and dancing along their way. All the kids have different songs, the mamu are noisy ones and do inma kali kali (crooked dancing, funny dancing). They are the cross hatched marks in the middle, the mamu making lots of funny noise and dancing all over the place. All the kids are travelling and practicing their singing and dancing for the big inma (ceremony) when they get to that special place. They are teaching the men and women and everyone joins in. Everyone learning and doing it together. Palya alatjitu. (a good way)
