Clarrie and Veronica are two exceptional artists who have mastered the intricate art of ochre painting. Their stunning pieces, depict traditional Gwion and Wandjina figures. Gwion and Wandjina are creation deities with deep spiritual significance in the Kimberely. In addition to showcasing these iconic motifs, Clarrie and Veronica's paintings frequently depict scenes of bush tucker, reflecting the importance of land and sustenance in Indigenous culture. Their artworks bring to life the stories of their people in a way that is both captivating and profound.
In Cultured Dreaming, Clarrie and Veronica expert use of traditional ochre and imagery brings to life the spiritual significance and cultural heritage of their ancestors in a collection of mesmerising paintings, drawing together and celebrating three cultures of the Kimberley, the Wunambal, Ngaranyin and Worrora. They pay homage to the sacred stories and mythologies that have been passed down through generations; evoking a sense of connection to the land and its spirits, and transporting viewers to a realm where time stands still.
