This is Stephanie's Grandmother's traditional country, which is found far to the south of Balgo, in The Great Sandy Desert. The country depicted here is known as Witjindee, named for the tjurrnu, or soakwater featured in the centre of the painting. The landscape here is dominated by tali, or sand dunes, although there are some areas where kantilli, or bush raisins can be found.
