In this painting the Burton Women has depicted their country. The different colours and designs represent variations in the landscape
The Burton Women's Collaborative consists of Angela Burton, Maureen Douglas, Deborah Burton, Cathy Burton, Tanya Burton, Nyanu Burton and Brenda Burton. The women are the daughters and granddaughters of the late Kunmanara (Wawiriya) Burton, and learned to paint under her guidance at Tjala Arts. Together, the women paint to remember, celebrate, and pass on her stories.
