Like many of the artist's paintings, this work depicts her ancestral water and fire dreamings from the Luritja and Warlpiri hinterlands in the desert. Western eyes will also note that the painting's wavy lines, for rain and water, and the embedded circles, for fire travel and for growth and flourishing, combine to make a dynamic pattern of arc and line: a constant theme in art from AA's home community of Papunya.
