Inside the strong central roundel sit a group of traditional ladies, all painted up for their ceremonial dance. Outside the central circle, but enclosed by the next roundel is the gleaming shimmer of the rain story being sung: the wheat-gold colour is the sound rising upwards: and beyond that outer circle on the very margins of the painitng the strongly patterned lines depict the intervals and steps of the women’s dance.
