The artist is calling up the image of her ancestral country and the times she spent there with her old aunts, now passed away. Again the focus is Mikanji and its associated chain of sites: the wave lines represent the songs of the water dreaming cycle rising into the air: the ladies gathered together in the prominent cluster of arcs at top right are the traditional owners of the site, members of the Nangala and Nampitjinpa sub-sections: they are singing in unison, and their song’s words picture the nearby sites closest to their hearts: Puyuru, Tjikari and the inconspicuous but potent desert well at Kalipinypa.
