Jane has painted her mother's traditional country, and the place in which she grew up - Kunawarritji, or Well 33
on the the Canning Stock Route. Shown here are the tali (sand dunes) which dominate the landscape of the area,
with the tjurrnu (soakwater) Kunawarritji in the centre. This painting depicts old women travelling to different
waterholes looking for their grinding stones. They collected all their bushtucker but couldn't find the stones, they
said "where did they go?" and they went searching around all the soakwaters. They found them at a big rock holes
which has a big cave underneath, the water here is nice a cool. This is Jane's grandmother's Tjukurrpa (dreaming).
