Jane has been painting with the Ngaruwanajirri group since 1994. Jane sources inspiration from the beautifully painted ceiling of Keeping Place. She will often gaze up and observe the shapes and patterns, using this rich historical resource in her own work in new ways.
Jane paints in ochre on paper and canvas and watercolour on paper. She uses wax and dyes to paint spectacular designs onto silk. Jane draws subject matter from her surrounds including magpie goose, shark, muputi (fish) tunga (bark basket) and pamajini (arm band for ceremony).
