Alec Pula Lewis Australian, Alyawarre, b. 1963

Alec was born in Mcdonnel Downs Station. He grew up there with his family living in a traditional way on the land. Alec did not attend school he learnt about the land, hunting and collecting bush tucker. He and his family moved between different communities visiting other families and country.

Alec passes his knowledge of the land to his children and family so that this knowledge is not lost. Alec paints his mother's country, Amaroo Station. He now lives in Ampilatwatja with his wife Elizabeth Ngwarraye Bonney who also paints, and his children.
