Meredith Treacle Australian, Pitjantjatjara, b. 1968
Meredith Treacle is from Fregon, on the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands, 350km SE of ULURU. Meredith was born at Amata in South Australia. When her family moved to Fregon she went to the local school where one of her teachers was Lyn Cavisser. During her secondary education she went to Adelaide where she attended Inglefarm High School and lived at Wiltja hostel. After school she returned to Fregon where she worked at the Fregon Store, the Art and Craft Centre, and later she was a school teacher (Anangu Education Worker). During her time at the Art and Craft Centre, Meredith learnt how to do silk painting and lino cuts. She also started painting on canvas. Meredith previously worked at the Fregon School as an AEW -Anangu Education Worker. 2016 - She is now a full time artist at Kaltjiti Arts.
