Jane Duncan Australian, Ngaanyatjarra, b. 1975
Jane Duncan is a young Ngaanyatjarra woman from Warakurna community, Western Australia. Jane was born in Warburton in the 1970’s and spent much of her childhood there. As Jane has many relatives in Warburton still, Western Australia, she regularly travels there for extended periods of time with her son.
Jane began weaving in October 2018 after being taught by Denise Jackson and Polly Jackson. Her first piece of work was a brightly- coloured Tinka (lizard) sculpture. Since then, she has continued to develop her skills, creating tightly woven, woollen and grass sculptures.
