Simon Yungut is a Pintupi man,he is the son of Papunya Tula artist Johnny Yungut Tjupurrula who is the brother of renowned Warlayirti Artist, Donkeyman Lee Simon paints his father's country around the salt lake Wilkinkarra (Lake Mackay). Simon alsopaints for Papunya Tjupi & Papunya Tula when he not visiting his Balgo family.Simon’s paintings depict the dreaming stories and the travels of theTingari, usingthe traditional concentric circle and line design. Tingari refers to the Dreaming andits Laws for the Pintupi language group of the Central Western Desert. The Tingari isthe Creation era when the Dreamtime Ancestors moved across the lands, creating the features of the landscape and all aspects of the natural world.
