Dulcie Koré Papua New Guinean, Omie, b. 1965

Dulcie Koré began painting for Ömie Artists in 2022. She is the daughter of Botha Kimmkimmi (Hirorkiki), the late Duvahe (Chief) of Sahuoté clan women. Dulcie was taught distinctive Ömie and Sahuoté clan designs by Botha, such as: dahoru'e (Ömie mountains); tuböru une (eggs of the Dwarf Cassowary); and sabu ahe (spots of the wood-boring grub). Dulcie is continuing the painting tradition of her mother and grandmother, Moira Kimmkimmi.

As at 2023, across all villages of Ömie territory it appears as though the design ofdahoru'e (Ömie mountains), as it is painted in in its large variation, is sadly, now becoming considerably rare. While it was predominently painted by Sahuoté clan Duvahe and elders such as Botha Kimmikimmi (Horokiki), Celestine Warina (Kaaru), Aspasia Gadai (Yéwo), Mala Nari (Matosi), with their passing this precious design remians in the hands of artists: Dulcie Koré, elder Faith Jina'emmi and Susan Hago.
