Wurrandan Marawili Australian, Yirritja, b. 1983

Wurrandan is a founding member and lead singer and dancer for Garraŋaliband from Yilpara.Recently Marawili was appointed Chairman of his homeland organisation in Yilpara following in the footsteps of the great activistand artist Djambawa Marawili. Son of Bakulaŋay Marawili (father). He has spent his life at Yilpara.He only recently has begun painting.He came to the attention of the art centre in 2017 and his individual style of intensely fine marwat,inventive palette and innovativec ompositionc ulminated ina work which was shared on Instagram ands een by staff of amajor institution who ended up acquiring it. A finalist in NATSIAA2019, this work has been selected to be part of a major exhibition touring the USA in 2021
