Marissa grew up with her grandmother and grandfather at Kunamata and is an emerging artistat Tjala Arts."Sometimes I paint my father's grandfather's ngurra(country), emu dreaming, and I put those emu tracks in my painting. Othertimes I try to make ili (wild fig) trees. My painting makes me think of my country at Kunamata. It helps me remember stories from a longtime ago".
