Lorraine Namarnyilk Australian

Lorraine Namarnyilk is the daughter of Lois Nadjamerrek and Brian Namarnyilk.

 

Lorraine worked as a Daluk ranger at Kabulwarnamyo for many years, caring for

her mother country before moving to Gunbalanya. Kabulwarnamyo is a very remote outstation in western Arnhem Land which was established by her grandfather, the esteemed artist Wamud 'Lofty' Nadjamerrek. Wamud was also fundamental to Lorraine's artistic development, as he taught her how to paint and many important stories.

 

At Injalak Arts, Lorraine has distinguished herself as a brilliant screen printer, a highly original painter and a cherished arts worker.
