Winston Mitchell Australian, b. 1952

Winston was born in circa of the1950's on country just onthe other side of Mantamaru (Jameson).As a young boy Winston attended school at Warburton Mission alongwith many other kids from across the Ngaanyatjarra Lands. Winston is an important leader inthe Papulankutja Community leading young men through law initiations and learning of relationship to others, the land and the dreamtime.Winston paints tjukurrpa (dreaming stories) which cannot always reveal the whole of the story as one must be initiated to come to full realisation of the story and its significance in the past,present and future
