Brenda NINGARMARA Mingen Australian, Mirrawong, b. 1969

"I was born in Kununurra. I now have five children. I watch the old people painting-t hat's how I got started. It teaches me about Country. I am ready to take over the stories of my mother. I learnt from her to tell her stories and pass them on to my children and grandchildren." Brenda is a dedicated artist and her arts practice includes ochre painting and textiles. She has worked at the art centre as a Miriwoong Tour Guide and has been a Director on the Waringarri Arts' Board.
