About Learning how to work - Diptych part II
"When I bit get like baby, crawl, walk, when I bin grown bit, I bin start to work, follow all them older people learn me how to work. With that Manager there, standing up. Learn the Station, never go school, we bin grow up and learn work straight out. We never go school. Manager just learn us. He used to tell us "Follow old people; What they tell you, take notice," all that sort of thing. We used to go down the well and get water with a big bucket, get up early before sun-up, all that sort of thing, sometime go get milk from nanny goat, go milking cow, and making road, stick him out with a grover and rake him up - that time, we never have any machine, old people they used to cut them up wood, tree, for clean up la house, that time we never have em have rake, broom or mop and we used to work washing on our knees, crawling all around. That's why we must be feel no good now, I got a bad knee, go to the clinic all the time."
