Pamela Brooks was born and grew up in Milikapiti. In the early 70’s after leaving school Pamela worked lived and worked in Darwin at Bibby Perkins Barge. Pamela experienced the horror of Cyclone Tracey in the early 80’s and after this decided to return to Milikapiti. In her working life, Pamela has been employed at the local Milikapiti Store, the Farm and the Northern Territory Housing Office. Pamela has been a member at Jilamara for several years and has painted about the experience of living through Cyclone Tracey. Pamela likes to hunt for oysters, long bums and piranga. She loves to go camping on her country at Mirrikawuyanga, which extends up to Karslake from Milikapiti. Tiwi culture is important to Pamela, she learnt much through listening to her father and watching him dance in Pukumani ceremonies.
