David Pearson | Artist Profile
Details of David Pearson
"I grew up in the bush with my family at Ambiarra, near to Finke. My father worked at the station with my mother. When we moved to Mount Cavanagh I began to learn stockman work from David Frank – and now after all this time, we make paintings at Iwantja! Back then I was riding horses, branding and mustering cattle. My father loved to go hunting. He would show me how to make the kulata (spears) from the special tree’s that grew on our country. These were good times. I have lived at Indulkana for many years no. I have been the Chairman of Indulkana and worked alongside government for many years. Making our community strong, and creating good ways for the future and for our people."
